On 18 December 2024, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) published a profile of Meskot's founder, Desta M. Abreha, on LinkedIn. It describes Meskot Education's digital learning work for children in Tigray and Desta's plans to extend it across Ethiopia.

At CRS's Ethiopia headquarters, Desta met Zemede Zewdie, who leads Catholic Relief Services in Ethiopia as its Country Representative.

Desta is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is part of the U.S. government's Young African Leaders Initiative. Through a Professional Development Experience with CRS, he worked on scaling up digital education, including the video-based lessons Meskot makes with local teachers in Tigrinya.
