Fitsum Worknhe

Member - Board of Directors & account Supervisor

Fitsum Worknhe is the account supervisor and board member at Meskot Education. Prior to Meskot, Fitsum was a Volunteer with the VSO Addis Ababa chapter helping make measurable differences for the program recipients by Assisting the program manager with planning and fundraising responsibilities and supervising the implementation of tasks to serve target groups.

He also founded a marketing company with a partner, which helped grow into a company of 10.  He has contributed to a number of different industry charity organizations, including Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2012, and Addis Ababa university Student Union.

He has a First degree in Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University and a Master of Arts degree from the same school. He has written his dissertation paper titled Towards an Anthropological Assessment of the Post EPRDF Reforms in Ethiopia: The Case Study of Addis Ababa and Mekele Cities.”

Fitsum, believes that education is the key to a better future for his country. He Joined Meskot academy with that intention in mind and is excited about bringing this high-quality content to Ethiopian Pedagogy. He leads the teams responsible for content localization and local content creation.

In his spare time, he is an avid long-form reader, lover of all true-crime podcasts, and is attempting to work through his book on social anthropology in Ethiopia.

Roles

  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing sound and compliant financial management practices (including budgeting)
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing sound and compliant fundraising practices
  • Developing, informing, and supporting the board and the board committees to carry out their governance functions
  • Ensuring legal compliance (including all required filings) and sound risk management practices
  • Monitors spending and the overall financial health of the organization
